Walking Papers

USA

Walking Papers is a blues-rock band from Seattle formed in 2012 by singer and guitar player Jeff Angell (ex-The Missionary Position) and drummer and multi-instrumentalist Barrett Martin (ex-Screaming Trees). Initially they performed as a duo, but soon added former Guns N’ Roses bassist Michael Andrew "Duff" McKagan who had played in this US supergroup for 12 years. Walking Papers made their official debut as a trio in June 2012. In a short while they were joined by ex-Missionary Position keyboard player Benjamin Anderson. The debut album of the band ”Walking Papers” features a stellar cast of guest musicians. Most well-known of the four is without a doubt, at least for Estonian rock fans Duff McKagan. Following his departure from Guns N' Roses in 1997 he briefly reunited with his pre-success Seattle punk band 10 Minute Warning. He then formed a hard rock band Loaded, in which he performed lead vocals and rhythm guitar. Between 2002 and 2008 Duff played in Velvet Revolver with his former Guns N' Roses band mates Slash and Matt Sorum. Last year he joined Walking Papers. McKagan has palyed together with a host of famous rock artists, released solo albums and is writing weekly columns on a wide variety of topics for various internet magazines. He was also one of the last people confirmed to see Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain alive.
