DJ Gilles Peterson is, thanks to his long-running career at BBC Radio 1 and his current show on BBC Radio 6 Music, a worldfamous name with an audience of millions. During his career he has helped set up three record labels – Acid Jazz, Talkin’ Loud and Brownswood Recordings. He has appeared at numerous festivals all over the world and curated over 100 compilation releases of jazz, fusion, funk and soul music. A true broadcasting legend and iconic DJ, who is still regarded as one of the important trendsetters in new music.
MC Earl Zinger is the alter-ego of an acid jazz band Galliano, signed to Gilles Peterson’s Talkin’ Loud label. Now experimenting with different styles, such as trip-hop and electronic music, Zinger boasts an impressive fictional career with alleged associations to Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg and influences over both Bob Marley and Bob Dylan.
