Oli Brown

UK

Oli Brown is a 24-year old guitar-playing, singing, song-writing, band-leading prodigy from Norfolk about whom Classic Rock declared that he has “the blues under his fingernails like few of his peers”. Music for him isn’t just a job or a shot at cheap celebrity, it is his passion, though he admits, laughing: “I picked the wrong genre of music to be a celebrity. I just want to be a credible musician.” Oli has played guitar since the age of 13 and his first influence was, of course, Jimi Hendrix. For today he has played alongside many great artists, including the legendary Godfather of British Blues John Mayall who asked Oli to be his lead guitarist for the Indonesian Blues Festival. Brown has the blazing guitar technique, throaty vocal style and the looks – so, suddenly the blues is starting to look hip and a little bit sexy again. He has released his debut album in 2008, his second album in 2010 and third one “Here I Am“ in 2012. OB has won several British Blues Awards: in 2010 he was named Best Male Vocalist and Best Young Artist, in 2011 Best Band and Best Album and in 2012 Best Young Artist again.
