Black Rocks

Russia

This Russian hard rock group was formed in Moscow in 2009 by two brothers, songwriters and producers Nikita and Alexander Pozdnyakov. Black Rocks started as a cover band, playing hits of Queen, AC/DC, Metallica, Whitesnake, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, etc. In 2011 they won Moscow’s Cover Band Championship and right after that started to work on their original material. Nikita's musical career began at the age of 8 when his father discovered his singing talent. Growing up in the home full of music – his father being a musician and composer – Nikita was exposed to all kinds of music throughout his teenage life. He has performed leading roles in Moscow’s musical theaters playing in Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair. His nine years younger brother Alexander started to write music and play the guitar at the age of 11. He is the winner of All-Russian Guitar Competition, held in Moscow in 2009 and a finalist of Guitar Idol III of 2011 in London. Last year Black Rocks released their debut album “I’d Rather Be Alone”.
